Nadur youngsters were beaten by Ghajnsielem 2-1 on Sunday. Nadur were 1-0 up thanks to a goal by Cadu but Ghajsielem turned the result in their favour with goals from Thiago dos Santos and Ferdinando Apap.

This time Nadur were motivated not to concede goals just like the previous matches against Kercem,Xewkija and Sannat.Kyle Russell had an early effort that ended wide and on the half hour mark Kenneth Mercieca had a good chance of scoring after dribbling Buttigieg on the edge of the area and shot.His try ,however was easy prey for Steve Sultana in goal.Nadur opened the score few minutes later.Cadu was brilliantly unmarked by Paul Camilleri and lobbed over the keeper who was rushing out with the ball going in the net.Nadur’s lead was short-lived as Ghajnsielem equalised on the stroke of half time.A corner by Cariaga was flicked on the first post and found Dos Santos unmarked.The Brazilian controlled the ball well and fired a low shot that went straight in the bottom corner of the net.

The second half saw Ghajnsielem again dangerous from a close range header by Kenneth Mercieca  following a cross by Dos Santos.The Blacks took the lead after 61 minutes of play from a header by Ferdinando Apap.Ghajnsielem ended with a player less ten minutes later when Frank Lee Galea was sent off for a second yellow after fouling Anthony Portelli.Nadur failed to provide a good reaction.Kennet Mercieca was also sent for an early shower after another second bookable offence.In the same Action,Alex Simoncic was also sent off for Nadur after an argument with Ghajnsielem’s defender Joseph Buttigieg.Nadur’s best opportunity of grabbing an equalizer  came ten minutes from time.Paul Camilleri dribbled two players and crossed in the area where he found Russel unmarked.The English striker however his shot ending inches wide.Saviour Attard and Jeffrey Meilak also had good opportunities to score but the game ended for a win for the blacks.

The loss meant that Ghajnsielem are now equal on points with the youngsters,two points below league leaders Victoria Hotspurs.Nadur will take on the reds this Sunday in a must-win match. Its time for all Nadur players to get back on form to show who they really are.
